Does money really talk? It does to me. Every time I go to the mall my cash says, “Good buy! Good buy!” Well, goodbye to summer! Welcome September! It is the month that ushers the whole world into the dreaded but one of the happiest periods of the year - the “ember” months. They include
September, October, November and December. People see these months as the most dangerous months because every activity of man in a year is coming to a close, and as result, almost everybody is a hurry to meet up to the finish line.
The month of September tells us to “See Every Problem Today, Every Mountain, as a Basis of Exercising Resilience” in God (Job 19:25) “Ember” months are those months that end with the word “ember” or “ber”. The word “Ember” represents a piece of wood or coal that is not burning
but is still red hot after a fire has died. The word “Ember” is not without some lessons to teach us. The period of “ember” months is filled with activities of men and women who are rushing to meet up with the pressing demands of year ending. Reports must be written and submitted and activities for the following year gets a kick-start. Here’s what you can do for these ember months:
E- Expect good things to happen. Have that positive attitude. Ember months are not decrescendos,
they are accelerandos. The year is ending but we are not going down; we are going up. Things will get better. Good things will come your way.
M- Make the best of every day. Whether at home, at work, at school, at play or with every relationship, give your best. Be the best you can. You’ll never regret the future, if you make the best of every day.
B – Be Kind, Be Gentle, Be Compassionate, Be Understanding, Be Humble. Be Giving, Be forgiving!
These are the months of embers or bers, but most especially the months of “BEs.”
E – Exercise! Yes, exercise your body! And it is also the time to exercise your love, exercise your patience, exercise your Christian virtues, exercise you Family values.
R – Remember to give thanks to God. Thanksgiving Day in November is a great day to be thankful.
As the song goes, “Try to remember the kind of September. Then, follow, follow, follow!”
